Harvest and environnement

Nothing is lost !!! After crusher, left overs, we call them "marcs" are being lift up by a distillery. Used waters from equipment cleaning are collected in a interceptor tank for further recycling.

Thousand of tons of marcs are being distilled, 90% for medical use. The rest in Fine Champagne. Some of it will be aged in wood, it is "Marc de CHampagne", a sweet liquor called Ratafia is also produced. Seeds are pressed in oil, procyanidols are also recovered to cure heart deseases. All the rest is deshydrated, reduce in powder and will be mixed to cattle food or fertilisers. These operations are subject to a State monopoly and all the profit goes to Public Treasury.
